Freetown, Sierra Leone – Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, former presidential candidate of the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), has made serious allegations regarding the presence and activities of most wanted Dutch drug trafficker Jos Leijdekkers, also known as “Bolle Jos,” in Sierra Leone.
In a recent social media post, Mansaray claimed that Leijdekkers has been residing at the Yankai Resort in Big Water, along the Freetown Peninsula.
“Leijdekkers Jos, aka Bolle Jos the Cocaine baron left his 2 Seasons Resort at Tokeh, and he is currently at Yankai Resort at BiG WATER, along the Pennisular in Freetown. Yankai Resort at Big Water is owned by Andrew Kobina Walker who is the current Chairman for the newly owned Sierra Rutile Limited,” he disclosed.
The former presidential candidate further alleged that Leijdekkers invested substantial funds in the acquisition of Sierra Rutile Limited through Leonoil in September 2024, using local businesses for money laundering purposes.
Leijdekkers, 33, is a notorious figure in international drug trafficking circles. In June 2024, a Dutch court sentenced him in absentia to 24 years in prison for smuggling over seven tonnes of cocaine. He is also suspected of laundering millions of euros and large quantities of gold.
Recent reports indicate that he has been residing in Sierra Leone since early 2023, with sightings placing him at a church service in January 2025, seated near President Julius Maada Bio. Unverified claims suggest that Leijdekkers may have close ties to the First Family, possibly through marriage to the president’s daughter.
The Sierra Leonean government has announced an investigation into these reports. In a statement, the Information Ministry expressed readiness to collaborate with Dutch authorities, Interpol, and other international law enforcement agencies. The government emphasized its commitment to ensuring that Sierra Leone does not become a haven for organized crime.
Meanwhile, the Dutch government has officially requested the extradition of Jos Leijdekkers from Sierra Leone. In a statement, the Dutch Justice Minister confirmed that the government is swiftly preparing extradition documents and emphasized that “authorities are willing” to expedite the process.
The Dutch police have offered a €200,000 reward for information leading to Leijdekkers’ arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward as they intensify efforts to apprehend him.
