In a spectacular display of African talent, Drizilik, the renowned hip-hop and afrobeats artist, took center stage at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher, proudly representing Sierra Leone.
The event, celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, showcased some of the most exceptional artists from across the globe.
Drizilik’s electrifying performance captivated the audience as he delivered powerful verses that not only resonated with the essence of Sierra Leonean culture but also expressed his profound pride in his roots.
With lines like “Diamond in the flesh, Salone in your face” and “Dis na Krio, no to pidgin nor mistake am,” Drizilik passionately emphasized the importance of recognizing Sierra Leone through its native “Krio” language.
Sharing the stage with Africa’s finest, including Psycho YP, Veezo View, ASKIA, PHIDO, Bryan The Mensah, and Ko-Jo Cue, Drizilik infused his music with an unmistakable Sierra Leonean flavor, setting the microphone on fire with his lyrical prowess.
Drizilik’s international recognition isn’t limited to this event; he has been proudly representing Sierra Leone on various global platforms. Since 2020, he has been a featured performer at the MTV Africa annual African Day Concert, consistently proving his exceptional talent and dedication to showcasing the vibrant music culture of Sierra Leone.
