The Residential Elderly Care Foundation, dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults, has announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors, during their Annual General meeting on Saturday 27 December 2025, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s continued growth and service to the community.
The newly appointed board brings together a diverse group of professionals with experience in healthcare, social services, finance, law, and Media. Their collective expertise is expected to strengthen the foundation’s governance and guide its mission of providing care, dignity, and support to the elderly, particularly those who are vulnerable or underserved.
Speaking on the appointment, the Executive Director of the foundation KarifaThoronka, said the team is committed to upholding the foundation’s values while expanding its impact.
“Our ageing population deserves compassion, respect, and reliable support systems. This board is united in its dedication to ensuring that older persons receive the care and attention they need to live fulfilling lives,” Karifa said. T
he foundation has long been involved in initiatives such as residential care support, health and wellness programs, community outreach, and advocacy for the rights of senior citizens. With the new board in place, plans are underway to enhance existing programs and explore new partnerships to address emerging challenges faced by the aged.
On-behalf of the board of directors, Bernard Turay welcomed the appointments, noting that strong leadership is essential at a time when demand for aged care services is increasing.
“The guidance of an experienced and committed board will help the foundation remain responsive, transparent, and innovative in meeting the needs of the elderly community,” he said.
The Board of Directors will officially assume their roles effective 5 January 2026, The Finance Coordinator Moses Musa Jabati and other members expressed optimism that the new leadership will further advance the foundation’s mission and ensure sustainable support for older adults in the years ahead.
The Deputy Director, Teiwoh Momoh Mansaray encouraged the public to continue supporting the work of the foundation through volunteerism, partnerships, and donations, emphasizing that caring for the aged is a shared social responsibility.
