Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Sierra Leone Police have released Ahmad Basha, the 57-year-old Chief Executive Officer of the well-known Basha Restaurant, on bail as investigations continue into serious allegations involving underage girls.
Basha was taken into custody after reports emerged accusing him of allegedly accommodating three 15-year-old girls at his residence for nearly a week. The girls were said to have engaged in sexual activity and drug use during their stay. Initial reports had claimed the teenagers were being held against their will.
However, police sources have since indicated that preliminary findings suggest the girls were not forcibly detained.
Investigators say the teens appear to have been at the property voluntarily and reportedly invited additional friends to join them.
While Basha’s release on bail has stirred public attention, law enforcement officials emphasize that the case remains open. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the events and whether formal charges will be filed. Authorities have assured the public that due process will be followed.
