Sierra Leone national team forward Augustus Kargbo has pledged a \$100 reward to each player of the U-20 national team, the Shooting Stars, if they secure a victory against Morocco U20 in their upcoming match.
Kargbo made this announcement via his social media platforms, aiming to motivate the young squad ahead of their crucial encounter.
In his message, Kargbo emphasized the significance of the match, stating, “You’re one win away from the semifinals, one win away from the U20 World Cup, and one win away from history. Play with your heart and fight for each other.”
He further encouraged support for the team, adding, “Let’s support and motivate our Shooting Stars with whatever we have. Personally, I will give \$100 to each player if we win tomorrow. Let’s go make history. Na we dae play.”
The Shooting Stars are set to face Morocco U20 in a friendly match on March 25, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco. This match serves as a preparatory game for the upcoming Africa U-20 Nations Cup, scheduled to be held in Ivory Coast in April 2025.
Kargbo, currently playing as a forward for Blackburn Rovers, has been a pivotal figure for Sierra Leone’s senior national team, the Leone Stars. Since his debut in October 2021, he has made significant contributions, including scoring decisive goals in World Cup qualifiers.
