Freetown, Sierra Leone – Just an hour after the collapse of a four-storey building in Congo Town, another construction accident has occurred at the Kingdom Hall site on Wilkinson Road, in the western part of Freetown.
The incident, which took place earlier today, resulted in serious injuries to two individuals.
Both accidents are being attributed to “very poor construction work,” according to experts.
The incidents have intensified calls for the Government of Sierra Leone to enforce stricter building regulations.
Authorities and industry stakeholders are being urged to collaborate more effectively to ensure best practices in the construction sector are upheld, aiming to prevent future tragedies.
