The National Revenue Authority (NRA), working with the Ministry of Finance, the National Petroleum Regulatory Agency (NPRA) and SICPA, on Thursday conducted a joint assessment tour of selected factories and businesses in Freetown to enforce compliance with the Tax Stamp Law.
The team visited Mackie Cement Factory at Hastings, the SICPA Warehouse at Wellington, LEONE Oil Company at Kissy, Rockcem, and King Production at Shell, Kissy. The exercise focused on checking adherence to tax stamp requirements, identifying gaps and improving revenue assurance.
The NRA team was led by Edwin Conteh, Deputy Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Department, and Moo-Usa Salia Konneh, Assistant Commissioner of the Excise Office. The Ministry of Finance was represented by Idrissa Kanu, Director of the Revenue and Tax Policy Division; NPRA by Ansumana Samura, Director of Operations and Pricing; and SICPA by Maxwell Massaquoi, General Manager.
Officials said the joint operation reflects the Government’s commitment to boosting domestic revenue collection, promoting fair competition and stopping revenue leakages through stronger compliance and enforcement.
The institutions reaffirmed their readiness to continue working together and called on all businesses to fully comply with the Tax Stamp Law and other tax obligations.
