Koidu City, Kono District – The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer and seized a large quantity of suspected narcotic substances during what is being described as one of the most significant anti-drug operations ever conducted within the Tankoro Police Division.
The intelligence-led operation was spearheaded by the Local Unit Commander of Tankoro Division, CSP Dr Sahr Nyuma, with support from a team of dedicated officers.
The operation culminated in the arrest of Sheriff Koroma, popularly known as “Mystic”, at his hideout in Tankoro Camp, Koidu City.
During the raid, police recovered approximately 95 kilogrammes of suspected Cannabis Sativa, commonly known as jamba, a substantial quantity of loose dried leaves believed to be Cannabis Sativa, as well as two packets and 370 tablets of suspected tramadol.
The successful operation has been widely welcomed by residents of Tankoro and the wider Kono District, many of whom have expressed appreciation for the continued efforts of the Sierra Leone Police in the fight against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
The raid has also generated considerable public interest and attracted significant media attention, with journalists closely monitoring developments surrounding the case.
Meanwhile, police investigations remain ongoing as efforts continue to identify and apprehend any other individuals who may be connected to the illicit drug trade.
