Freetown, 18 June 2025 – The ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has officially designated national officers to oversee the conduct of its Regional Executive Elections across the country.
The announcement was made by the National Secretary General, Umaru Napoleon Koroma, as part of the party’s ongoing internal democratic processes.
According to the list released on Wednesday, the following individuals have been appointed as Returning Officers and Members for their respective regions:
Eastern Region
* Returning Officer: Alhassan George
* Member: Rosamond Mattia
Southern Region
* Returning Officer: Dr. Prince Alex Harding
* Member: Francis A. Kallon
Northwest Region
* Returning Officer: Alhajie Alpha Kallon
* Member: Dr. Robert Chankanda
Northeast Region
* Returning Officer: Desmond Pessima
* Member: Ibrahim Fayia Sawaneh
Western Region
* Returning Officer: Lawrence Lahai Leema
* Member: Dwight Sabyghor Sheriff
These designated officers are tasked with ensuring a transparent, peaceful, and credible electoral process as the SLPP prepares to elect new regional executives. The move signals the party’s commitment to internal accountability and organizational strengthening ahead of future national engagements.
