A 27-year-old woman, Sia Kaffa, from Bumanjah village in Upper Sandor chiefdom, Kono district, has reportedly died following a brutal assault by her boyfriend, Tamba Sandi.
According to local sources, the alleged attack took place on Thursday, October 17, 2024, resulting in Sia’s tragic death three days later, on Sunday, October 20.
Sia’s body has been transferred to Connaught Mortuary in Freetown, where a post-mortem examination is expected to confirm the official cause of death.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Tamba Sandi, is being held in custody at the Kono Police Station, where he is assisting authorities with ongoing investigations.
This incident has sparked significant concern within the community as family members and residents await further updates from police and medical authorities on the case.
Cases of domestic violence has recently been the topic of discussions in Sierra Leone, particularly against women.
