In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Haja Betty Koroma of Wilkinson Road in Freetown, was arrested for possession of four sachets of dried leaves believed to be Kush.
The operation was conducted at the Gendema Customs checkpoint with the collaboration of joint security forces.
Authorities launched an immediate investigation, starting with the Mano River Division. The case has been referred to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) at the Regional Police Headquarters in Bo City for further examination.
Ms. Koroma remains in custody as the investigation continues.
The Mano River Division has garnered attention for its effective efforts in combating drug-related crimes, thanks to the dedicated leadership of Chief Superintendent of Police Philip Albert Kpange.
Law enforcement officials are urging community members to report any suspicious activities as the situation evolves.
