Freetown, Sierra Leone – In a significant ceremony held today, the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, officially inaugurated the state-of-the-art Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess at Wilberforce Barracks.
The event took place on Monday, 9th October, marking a momentous occasion for the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) and its personnel.
During his address at the ceremony, Vice President Jalloh praised President Julius Maada Bio’s unwavering commitment to the RSLAF’s transformation since assuming office in 2018.
Notably, he highlighted the substantial improvement in officers’ welfare, including a remarkable 75% salary increase over a three-year period and substantial investments in enhancing the RSLAF’s operational capabilities.
In a further testament to the government’s dedication to the armed forces, Vice President Jalloh announced plans to support the construction of vital road networks within the Juba, Murray Town, and Wilberforce barracks, enhancing logistical efficiency and infrastructure for the RSLAF.
The RSLAF leadership took this opportunity to express their profound gratitude to President Bio for his consistent and dedicated support over the years.
They reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to preserving peace and defending the nation, underscoring the vital role played by the armed forces in safeguarding Sierra Leone.
