Today, 26 August 2024 at approximately 16:30 GMT, a tragic accident occurred near the Waterloo axis involving a trailer traveling from the west.
The trailer, which was also carrying another truck on its back, reportedly experienced a brake failure as it approached the busy Container Junction. This mechanical failure caused the trailer to lose control and run over several individuals who were standing at the junction.
The accident resulted in the death of a motorbike rider, and several others sustained injuries of varying severity.
The incident has raised concerns over road safety and the maintenance of heavy vehicles operating in the area.
