On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Dambo Checkpoint in Koindu Division, Kailahun District, three individuals were arrested for alleged human trafficking.
The suspects, identified as Abdul Kamara of Ategbeh Town, Waterloo, Mustapha Samuel Conteh, and Alfred Sessy of Wusu Street, Makeni, were apprehended while transporting 17 people, including men, women, and children aged 13 to 28 from Waterloo to Niamey via Yenga in Guinea on five motorbikes.
The suspects and victims are currently being held at the Koindu Police Station. They will be taken to the Regional Headquarters in Kenema for further investigation.
