The Sierra Leone Police has issued a crucial situational update regarding the highly anticipated September 11 protest in the capital city, Freetown, and other regions across the country.
Mr. Will, representing the Office of the National Security (ONS), has underscored the collaborative efforts undertaken to ensure public safety during the protests. He revealed that extensive consultations were held with the Ministry of Transport and Aviation, along with other key sectors, to promote peace and understanding within the communities.
To disseminate crucial information and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining peace, loudspeakers and various information-sharing methods were employed. Furthermore, security personnel were strategically deployed at multiple locations to safeguard public order.

The Sierra Leone Police also reported a series of arrests, with some individuals already released while others remain in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.
Tragically, the police confirmed two fatalities resulting from alleged stray bullets during the protests. An immediate investigation has been launched to determine the precise circumstances surrounding these tragic deaths.
From the latest security updates, it has been disclosed that four individuals were apprehended in Goderich, sixty in Waterloo, and eight near the American Embassy at Mountain. The situation remains fluid, and authorities are closely monitoring developments to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.
