Freetown, Sierra Leone – February 4, 2025 – The Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security has issued a directive requiring all institutions and companies employing expatriates to submit comprehensive details of their foreign staff by February 17, 2025.
This mandate aligns with Sections 11 and 13 of the Work Permit Act 2023 (Act No. 11 of 2023).
Employers are instructed to provide the following information for each expatriate employee:
– Job titles- ualifications- eriod of engagement- description of the jobs they perform in Sierra Leone
The Ministry emphasizes that the collection of this data is essential for informed decision-making regarding labor and employment matters.ubmissions should be accompanied by a covering letter addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to regulating the employment of foreign workers within the country, ensuring transparency and compliance with established guidelines.
