Residential Early Care Foundation, a community charitable organization based in Freetown, has celebrated their fifth years anniversary over the weekend at AFTEC Hall, Wilberforce.
Started in October 2019 with the word, small charity has a big impact, the organization has over the years done several donations to the aged in different communities around Freetown ranging from Food, Medical service and Clothing.
Reflecting on the event, the Executive Director Karifa Thoronka stated that their five years journey as a charity organization was not just about providing for the aged but also showing concern to them.
He said that saying that the event is a celebration of that journey, adding that they are proud to use the opportunity to give back to the community.
In his keynote address, Dr. Claudius William Tucker, advised young people to plan their life so that they will age with dignity, and further encouraged them to take good care of their elderly people in societies, noting that they need more attention.
Musa Jabati, the Financial Coordinator for the organization, spoke about their financial cconstrains during the five years. He said that they have been facing many challenges for sponsors, noting that in previous years they have been sending several letters requesting for sponsors but only few responded.
He continued by appealing to business houses and individuals to supports charity work in Sierra Leone especially the vulnerable older people.
Musa ended by thanking 34 Military Hospital and Premium Divine Trading for their consistence supports towards the foundation.
The ceremony was climaxed with entertainment by the military brass ban followed by distribution of gifts to the beneficiaries, after refreshing all attendees.
