FREETOWN – His Excellency President Brigadier (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio has unveiled a series of new appointments to key government and public service positions.
The announcement, made by Emmanuel A.R. Gaima, Secretary to the President, highlights the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and service delivery.
The appointees include individuals from various professional backgrounds who are expected to play pivotal roles in their respective offices. Among the notable appointments are Mr. Alpha Sesay as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, and Mr. Morie Lengor as Minister of Internal Affairs.
Commenting on the appointments, a government spokesperson noted, “These appointments reflect the President’s vision to enhance leadership and accountability in key sectors. Each appointee brings unique expertise and experience to their roles.”
Other appointments include Ms. Saptieu Saccoh as Deputy Minister of Justice, and Mr. Ibrahim Jalloh, who has been named Resident Minister for the Northern Region.
In the transport sector, Mr. Abu Abu Koroma will now serve as Chairman of the Sierra Leone Public Transport Authority, while Maj. Gen. Christian Fayimba Marah has been appointed Commissioner of the National Commission for Small Arms.
The President also announced Mr. Emmanuel K. Amara as Chairman of the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) and Mr. Lamina Vamboi as State Chief of Protocol and Ambassador-at-Large.
Reacting to the announcement, a senior official at State House remarked, “These strategic appointments are part of the President’s ongoing efforts to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the governance structure. We are confident the appointees will deliver on their mandates.”
The appointments come at a critical time as the government continues to implement reforms across various sectors.
