Freetown, Sierra Leone — November 16, 2024 – Peace Ambassador Alhaji Amadu Bah popularly known as Boss LAJ has issued a strong condemnation of a rising trend among Sierra Leonean youths who display firearms on social media.
Bah described the behavior as “reckless” and a serious threat to the nation’s peace and stability.
“This alarming display of guns and violent imagery undermines the efforts of President Bio in promoting peace and security in Sierra Leone,” Bah stated. “It sends the wrong message to our younger generations and paints a distorted image of our society both locally and internationally.”
The Peace Ambassador called on Sierra Leoneans to unite in condemning such actions and to encourage non-violence, respect, and dialogue among the country’s youth.
He emphasized the importance of fostering an environment where peace is a priority and aggressive displays are replaced by constructive discussions.
“I urge parents, community leaders, and educators to engage with our youth,” Bah said. “We must guide them toward positive outlets for expression and encourage them to reject violence in all its forms. Together, we can create a culture that celebrates harmony and encourages personal responsibility.”
Bah appealed to the public to take proactive steps in educating the younger generation on the value of peace and their role in shaping a better future for Sierra Leone.
“Let us all work hand-in-hand to ensure that our future leaders understand the importance of peace and the power they have to shape a better tomorrow,” he concluded.
The call to action from the Peace Ambassador reflects ongoing concerns about the potential impact of violent imagery on the nation’s youth and its broader implications for the country’s image and stability.
