In a significant development, the NP petroleum station located at Brookfields, Kinghaman Road, Freetown, has faced strict action from the Petroleum Regulatory Agency (PRA).
The station’s operations have been halted, and its license suspended due to a deliberate violation of Sierra Leone’s petroleum laws, specifically refusing to sell to the public.
The crackdown occurred during a supervision session led by the Chairman of the PRA.
Upon investigation into the station’s refusal to provide fuel to the public, it was revealed that they possessed sufficient products, including 14,800 liters of petrol (10,000 in BRV, 4,800 liters underground) and 2,200 liters of diesel.
The PRA emphasizes continued monitoring as they ensure compliance across the petroleum industry.
On Thursday, PRA in a public notice emphasized that the prices of petroleum products in the country remain unchanged, and warned against artificial scarcity of the products.
