In a major breakthrough, Augustine Omaska, who escaped from the Pademba Road Correctional Facility in an unlawful break on November 26th, 2022, has been successfully re-apprehended in the Kandeh section of Bo City by authorities.
Omaska, with a criminal history including a 2017 case of Robbery with Aggravation, faced condemnation after justice caught up with him.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Brima Kanneh, Regional Police Commander South, hailed Omaska’s re-arrest as a significant development that immediately mitigates threats to public safety.
Emphasizing the importance of capturing high-profile escapees, Kanneh reassured the community, highlighting the significance of such actions in maintaining public safety.
Omaska’s recapture has prompted a comprehensive review of his background, previous offenses, and the circumstances surrounding his initial incarceration, aiming to unveil underlying issues related to crime prevention.
