In a tense finale to Egypt’s 2-0 victory over Sierra Leone in Monrovia, Liberia, Liverpool star Mohamed Salah faced a security scare as pitch invaders targeted him.
Salah, shielded by teammates and security personnel, remained composed after fans breached the pitch during the World Cup qualifier.
The incident, captured in an 89th-minute video on social media, showed security swiftly intervening as Salah’s teammate Mohamed Abdelmonem guarded him from potential threats.
This is not the first time Salah has encountered such incidents, given his high profile as African football’s biggest star.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be relieved to see Salah unharmed as the team gears up for a challenging Premier League clash against Manchester City.
