The New York Branch Manager(Anysia) of the International Women’s Peace Group(IWPG) announced on the 5th that the 6th ‘International Loving Peace Art Competition’ Preliminary Round were held both online and offline on the 2nd at ‘Queens Bridge Park’ located in Queens, New York City.
Organized by the IWPG Headquarter and hosted by the IWPG Global Region 5 and New York Branch, this competition is part of an initiative to promote a culture of peace. It provides children and teenagers with an opportunity to imagine and depict a world of peace each year. Now in its 6th year, the competition was held under the theme “A Hearts of Peace Conveyed to Friends Suffering from War.”
Held offline in New York for the first time, this year’s competition saw around 30 students and teachers from New York City participate both online and offline, expressing their wishes for peace through their artwork.
The judging criteria for the competition include ▲the relevance to the theme, ▲the completeness of the artwork in terms of form, composition, and color, and ▲the creativity and uniqueness of the theme. Prizes include certificates and awards for first to third place, encouragement awards, honorable mentions, and special awards in each category.
Anysia Branch Manager stated, “Participating in this competition today is not only about showcasing your talents but also about sharing a vision of peace and harmony with children around the world. Through this competition, I hope you reflect on the pain of war and the importance of peace, and that your artwork depicting a future peaceful world will become seeds of peace for others.”
Meanwhile, ‘International Women’s Peace Group’ is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC). Headquartered in South Korea, it operates with over 110 branches and 660 partner organizations worldwide. With the vision of “achieving sustainable world peace,” it actively works towards solidarity, a culture of peace, women’s peace education, and the establishment of relevant laws and institutions.
