On August 14, 2025, QNET hosted an engaging webinar that brought Sierra Leonean journalists together with top company officials to reflect on the participation of journalist at the QNET VCON Malaysia and shed light on the company’s mission, products, and impact.
The event aimed to dispel misconceptions and promote a clearer understanding of QNET’s legitimate business operations, especially in Sierra Leone.
Participants, including journalists who previously visited QNET’s headquarters in Malaysia, shared their positive experiences of the company’s transparency and commitment to social impact. They highlighted their visits to VCON Malaysia, a global conference gathering entrepreneurs, government officials, and media, where they witnessed firsthand QNET’s dedication to innovation and empowerment.
Journalists like Aaron Parker from Sierraloaded commended the company’s openness, noting discussions with senior management about challenges in Sierra Leone, their efforts to combat scams, and ongoing campaigns like the “QNET Against Scams.” Others emphasized that more awareness could turn QNET into a powerful platform for economic growth and social development in West Africa.
QNET’s Global Compliance Officer, Naana Quartey, reiterated the company’s active engagement with regulators and law enforcement to clarify the business model and distinguish it from illegal operations. Many journalists expressed newfound understanding, with some admitting they had previously misunderstood or misrepresented QNET due to limited exposure to the right information about the company.
The webinar served as a vital platform for Sierra Leonean media to spotlight the truth about QNET and its positive potential in regional entrepreneurship, social empowerment, and economic development.
