POSITION SUMMARY
ICAP at Columbia University is an international non-governmental organization that aims to ensure the wellness of families and communities by strengthening health systems around the world. ICAP began working in Sierra Leone in 2014, collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) to strengthen health systems by providing technical assistance, Quality Improvement and Nursing capacity-building projects in Sierra Leone.
In line with the broadened scope and objectives of ICAP work, the need for increased staff capacity around new and enlarged areas of focus have emerged. ICAP therefore, require the services of resourceful, experienced and dynamic professionals for the position Senior Project Officer
The Senior Project Officer will provide administrative support to the Country Director and other members of the Senior Management Team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate, organize and track action points of the COVID-19 vaccination Technical Working Group at the Expanded Program at MoHS-EPI
In consultation with Senior Epidemiologist and the Program Manager, develop and finalize an implementation plan and budget for all activities proposed under the project.
Review, update and adapt existing training materials for use to train COVID-19 vaccination supervisiors at national and subnational level equipping them with skills and knowledge to effectively deploy COVID-19 vaccines
Support the review and update of develop COVID-19 vaccination microplanning templates and logistics distribution plans for districts and chiefdom.
Review and develop SOPs, training materials, and tools on COVID-19 vaccination data entry, management, and analysis to improve competencies.
Review and update COVID-19 vaccine AEFI surveillance systems, including AEFI case definition, reporting tools, SOPs, and guidelines for notification, reporting, investigation, and causal evaluation
Ensure appropriate, high-quality, and timely technical assistance to the COVID-19 vaccination teams at peripheral health units.
Organize and document daily COVID-19 vaccine activities, including the COVID-19 vaccination Technical Working Group (COVID-19 Vac TWG), technical coordination committees and Causality committees, NITAG.
Work with the risk communication focal person at EPI, the health promotion department, and risk communication pillars to review, adapt and disseminate appropriate information education and communications materials.
Ensure that all donor reports and project write-ups, including but not limited to success stories and program briefs, are data-driven and articulate a compelling story.
Attend to other duties as assigned.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
Perform all these and any other duties assigned to you by your supervisor-the Country Director
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience.
