In a significant development, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has officially announced the apprehension of Amadu Koita, a key orchestrator of the failed coup attempt on Sunday, November 26th.
The arrest, executed at approximately 11:30 pm in the Tree Planting neighborhood, was facilitated by community intelligence.
Minister Bah disclosed this critical information today during the Ministry’s weekly press conference, assuring the public that the arrest transpired without casualties, injuries, or gunfire.
“He was arrested and no one died, no one was wounded and there were no gunshots,” he confirmed,” he disclosed.
Further revelations unfolded as it was disclosed that Koita had found refuge with Alimatu Hassan Bangura, a sergeant of the Sierra Leone Police assigned to the Interpol Section at CID.
Hassan Bangura is now in custody, actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Additionally, an Inspector from the New England Police Division was apprehended in the same premises, adding another layer to the unfolding events.
