State House, Freetown, Tuesday 10 September 2024 – The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Ambassador Sheriff Ahmed Mohamed Rifaat, has paid a farewell courtesy to President Julius Maada at State House.
Ambassador Rifaat assured the two nations of more bilateral agreements and achievements.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Madam Francess Piagie Alghali, while introducing the Ambassador, said it was a great honor and privilege for her to present a dear friend in the capacity of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, accredited to Sierra Leone, to President Bio, upon completion of his mission as Ambassador to the country.
The outgoing Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sheriff Ahmed Mohamed Rifaat, thanked President BIO for receiving him to bid farewell after two years of service in the country.
He recalled that during his tenure as Ambassador accredited to Sierra Leone, he was able to facilitar the signing of three Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries.
Ambassador Sheriff Ahmed Mohamed Rifaat assured President Bio and the people of Sierra Leone of a strengthened bilateral relationship between Egypt and Sierra Leone, pointing out that his successor will sign more agreements for the training of police officers and other sector development.
President Julius Maada Bio, in his response on behalf of the government and people of Sierra Leone, thanked the outgoing Ambassador for his diplomatic service and heightened level of cooperation between the two countries.
The President expressed optimism that his successor will follow Ambassador Rifaat’s path to deepen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
He informed the outgoing Ambassador to always count on the government and the people of Sierra Leone, stating that the country is always open to him. He wished him well in his next assignment.
