Freetown, 28 November 2025 – Sierra Leone’s President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has unveiled a sweeping list of appointments to chairmanships, board memberships, and senior executive positions across vital national institutions, as contained in a Public Notice released today from State House.
The new appointees, whose roles are subject to parliamentary approval where required, include:
1. Mr. John Gbondo Margai – Chairman, Sierra Leone Roads Authority
2. Mr. Gerald Demby – Chairman, National Water Resources Management Agency
3. Rev Dr. T. T. Samba – Chairman, University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex
4. Mr. Allieu Kokobay – Chairman, National Tourist Board
5. Mr. Alusine Sowe – Deputy Director General, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency
6. Mr. Alex J. Mami – Deputy Director General (Admin), Sierra Leone Meteorological Agency
7. Ing. Lahai Sowa – Deputy Director General, Road Maintenance Fund Administration
8. Ms. Christabel Adama Decker – Deputy Director General, Financial Intelligence Agency
9. Dr. Amadu Barrie – Board Member, Sierra Leone Roads Authority
10. Ms. Marion Gouldson – Board Member, Sierra Leone National Shipping Agency
11. Pastor Mohamed Sesay – Board Member, Right to Access Information Commission (Western Area)
12. Mr. Leslie Gordor-Browne – Board Member, NASSIT
13. Ms. Marie Mansaray – Board Member, Road Maintenance Fund Administration
14. Mr. Ibrahim Sam – Board Member, Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority
15. Mr. Prince A. Macarthy – Board Member, Road Maintenance Fund Administration
16. Mr. Mohamed Mwonde Allieu – Member, Produce Monitoring Board (Eastern Region)
17. Ms. Memunatu Kadi Sawi – Member, Produce Monitoring Board (Southern Region)
18. Mr. Mohamed Sallieu Bangura – Member, Political Parties Regulation Commission
19. Madam Nellista Lady-Jane Stack-Davies – Member, Sierra Leone Electricity and Water Regulatory Commission
Additional board members appointed to the University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospitals Complex are Prof. Alhaji Njai, Dr. Ayesha Idriss, Mr. Claude Sheriff, and Ms. Fatmata Stevens.
The Public Notice, dated 28th November 2025 and signed by Secretary to the President Barba B. Fortune, marks one of the most extensive single-day appointment announcements of the second Bio administration.
The new appointees are expected to assume their roles immediately upon parliamentary ratification, with observers noting the blend of experienced administrators, academics, clergy, and private-sector professionals selected to drive governance and development across critical sectors.
