Mohamed Kamara, Deputy Publicity Secretary of the All Peoples Congress Party (APC) has revealed that both the European Union and the U.S. Ambassador to Sierra Leone, David Bryant Hunt, have firmly communicated to the APC that a rerun of the 2023 elections will not take place.
Kamara highlighted that international partners, who have invested $1.5 million in electoral reforms, have clearly expressed their stance against funding a rerun.
“Our partners have made their position known, and we have discussed this in our executive meetings,” Kamara stated.
He stressed the necessity of transparency within the APC regarding the election results and future strategies.
“It is crucial to address this reality now to secure the party’s future,” he remarked.
Kamara also discussed recent interactions between the APC and the Government of Sierra Leone through a tripartite committee, calling for unity within the party to better prepare for future governance roles.
“The challenges our country faces can be addressed by the APC’s leadership,” he said optimistically.
Addressing internal party concerns, Kamara voiced his frustration over false accusations and misinformation spread by bloggers and some party members.
“I’m speaking out to counter the baseless allegations against our leadership,” he explained, emphasizing his commitment to transparency.
“We can no longer stay silent and risk the party’s reputation,” Kamara asserted, urging all APC members to acknowledge that there will be no election rerun.
“We must confront this truth directly,” he concluded.
This is a complete nonsense statement from Pope Kamara talking about US and European union not funding rerun elections in Sierra Leone, the main fundier of elections in Sierra Leone is government as when it necessary to hold elections, EU and US are not main funder,they are just supporting our elections and other activities in the country.
I think the the APC party present executive have disappointed the grassroots of the APC party and Sierra Leoneans that believe in the APC party. This is a complete sellout of executive in the party. We are dissatisfied and disappointed, we are worried about our childrens children’s future. Please let them rethink and make a very good decisions for the interests of people of Sierra Leone and the party. Our election results was stolen in broad day light, rigged openly by Mohamed Konneh in connivance with maada bio. Mentioning EU and US not having funds for a rerun is not an excuse to the people of Sierra Leoneand grassroots of the party, these behavior from the executive just shows that thecurrent APC party executive are incompetent, lazy and crook.
Pope will be dealt with by the grassroot members of the APC for deception. It’s no secret that members of the APC Leadership have collected bribes from the illegitimate President Maada Bio and use them to talk to APC members and supporters. Pope and those behind this undemocratic move have failed. Democracy and constitutional rule will be restored in Sierra Leone soon. Minkailu Mansaray, Lansana Dumbuya and others will face the wrath of the grassroot members and supporters soon.
