Freetown, 26 August 2026 – The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has issued an urgent public notice calling on all taxpayers, businesses, licence holders and other entities with outstanding Tax and Non-Tax Revenue obligations to regularise their liabilities without further delay.
The notice, referenced NRA/PATE 11/26th/08/2026 and issued by the Public Affairs and Tax Education unit, specifically targets:
– Mining companies
– Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) licence holders
– Internet Service Providers (ISPs)
– Television and radio stations
– Holders of state land leases and other non-tax revenue obligations
– Factory operators
– Private security companies
– Liquor licence holders
All affected parties are strongly advised to settle outstanding liabilities immediately and bring their obligations into full compliance.
Citing Section 12 of the Finance Act, 2019, the NRA warns that it will take necessary enforcement action against defaulters to recover revenue due to government. Possible measures include:
1. Sealing of business premises
2. Garnishment of business accounts
3. Restriction on travel outside the country
The Authority urges all concerned taxpayers and entities to treat the notice with the utmost urgency and take immediate steps to avoid enforcement action. Those requiring clarification on their outstanding obligations are encouraged to contact the National Revenue Authority promptly.
