Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially announced the key dates for the upcoming 2026/27 domestic football season, providing clubs, players, officials, and fans with a clear roadmap for the year ahead.
In a press release issued on Sunday, June 28, 2026, the SLFA detailed a comprehensive calendar approved by its Executive Committee. The dates aim to ensure proper planning, better coordination, and the smooth organization of football competitions across the country.
Major Dates Announced:
– Men’s Division One Playoffs: 8th – 19th July 2026
– Women’s Division One Playoffs: 12th – 18th July 2026
– Club Licensing Period: 1st August – 1st September 2026
– Player Registration Window (First Phase): 1st August – 21st October 2026
The cup competitions and league seasons will follow later in the year:
– Women’s Unity Cup: 3rd October 2026
– Men’s Unity Cup**: 4th October 2026
– Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League: 10th October 2026
– Sierra Leone Men’s Premier League: 10th October 2026
– National Division One Leagues (Male and Female): 24th October 2026
– National Division Two League: 25th October 2026
The SLFA encouraged all affiliated clubs and stakeholders to take note of these dates and begin necessary preparations for the new season.
The Association reiterated its commitment to strengthening the domestic football structure through improved planning, effective governance, and the continued development of competitions at all levels.
