The Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (DIB) Movement has appealed to members and supporters of the All Peoples Congress (APC) to remain calm, respectful, and united as the party continues its internal electoral process.
In a statement issued on March 9, 2026, the movement emphasized the need for discipline and decorum among party supporters, noting that internal elections should strengthen unity and democratic values within the party rather than create divisions.
The statement highlighted that while healthy debate and competition are part of any democratic exercise, the conduct of supporters should reflect respect and mutual understanding among party members.
According to the movement, there have been growing concerns over confrontational exchanges among supporters, including personal attacks and provocative comments directed at fellow party members and supporters of other candidates.
The DIB Movement described such behaviour as inconsistent with the party’s values.
The group therefore urged supporters to refrain from insults, attacks, or actions that could provoke tension, whether at meetings, in public spaces, or on social media platforms.
Instead, supporters were encouraged to promote their preferred candidates through constructive engagement, focusing on ideas, policies, and positive campaigns.
The movement stressed that the strength of the party lies in its ability to conduct internal contests with dignity while maintaining unity after the process.
Reaffirming its commitment to a peaceful, transparent, and credible internal electoral process, the DIB Movement expressed confidence that cooperation among party members would further strengthen the party and its democratic traditions.
