Freetown, Sierra Leone — Professor Alusine Jalloh has been appointed as the interim Dean of the Faculty of Law at Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra Leone, following the end of the tenure of the previous Dean.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was confirmed by the University administration as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic leadership and enhance the quality of legal education at the institution.
Professor Jalloh, a seasoned academic and legal scholar with decades of teaching and research experience, is widely respected for his commitment to legal scholarship and institutional reform.
He has previously served in various academic and administrative capacities within the University and has contributed extensively to curriculum development, mentorship, and legal research in Sierra Leone.
In his new role, Professor Jalloh is expected to oversee the smooth administration of the Faculty, spearhead ongoing accreditation processes, and ensure adherence to high academic and ethical standards. He is also tasked with fostering collaboration between the Faculty of Law and national legal institutions such as the Sierra Leone Bar Association and the Judiciary.
The University described his appointment as timely, noting that his leadership will help restore confidence and stability within the Faculty while promoting academic excellence and student engagement.
