The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has brought formal charges against two employees of the Koidu Government Hospital in Kono for allegedly diverting medical supplies meant for Sierra Leoneโs Free Health Care Programme.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, the Commission announced that Christian Benjamin Karjue, Head Store Keeper, and Ibrahim Janneh, a Cleaner, have been indicted before the High Court in Kono.
Both men face charges of *Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence* and Misappropriation of Public Property under the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008, as amended in 2019.
Investigations revealed that between April 10 and 18, 2025, the accused, together with others yet to be identified, allegedly conspired to divert thirteen cartons of assorted medical supplies intended for the Free Health Care Programme.
The ACC said the move reflects its continued efforts to protect public resources and strengthen accountability within Sierra Leoneโs health sector.
