FREETOWN, Sierra Leone – The much-anticipated ECOFEST 2024 will feature Nigerian comedy sensation and skitmaker, Chukwuebuka Emmanuel Amuzie, better known as Brain Jotter.
The announcement was made today by the festival’s new CEO, Hawa Turay, in a social media.
“Introducing someone who needs no introduction, Brain Jotter makes his first visit to Sierra Leone and will be performing at this year’s ECOFEST on the 20th of December in Freetown,” Turay shared.
The comedian’s debut in Sierra Leone is expected to be one of the highlights of this year’s festival.
Brain Jotter, born on February 5, 1996, is a renowned Nigerian comedian, content creator, and philanthropist. His career took off during his college years, performing at various live comedy shows across Nigeria. In 2020, he achieved a breakthrough by posting short comedic skits on Instagram, quickly gaining millions of followers.
Brain Jotter has since collaborated with top Nigerian comedians such as Mr. Funny, Don Jazzy, and Bovi. His Gwo Gwo dance challenge has become popular over social media platforms, the dance challenge revived the song “Ka Esi Le Onye Isi Oche” by Mike Ejeagha.
The upcoming performance at ECOFEST will coincide with a packed schedule of events, which will now also include the Miss ECOFEST competition, a new addition introduced by Turay.
The festival will span two days, starting with the culinary showcase “Salone Culinary Delights” and the beauty pageant on December 20. The following day will feature a DJs and Hypemen competition, followed by a musical concert and jam session.
ECOFEST, short for the ECOWAS Music Festival, is celebrated as one of the largest festivals of African culture and artistry, drawing musicians, dancers, and performers from across West Africa. The festival provides a platform for emerging and internationally recognized artists alike, celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the ECOWAS region.
With Brain Jotter’s debut and new innovations from the festival’s management, this year’s edition promises to be one of the most memorable in ECOFEST’s history.
