The highly anticipated murder trial of Abdul Kpaka, who stands accused of the brutal killing of Sia Fatmata Kamara, has been postponed to September 4, 2024.
The adjournment came after Kpaka made his first appearance in court today in Freetown.
The hearing, held at Pademba Court, was overseen by Magistrate Santigue Bangura.
The defense team is led by Teddy Koroma Esq., while Joan Bull Esq. represents the state prosecution.
Sia Fatmata Kamara’s death has sparked widespread condemnation, with the public and human rights organizations demanding a thorough and swift investigation. Sia Fatmata Kamara is set to be laid to rest on Sunday, September 1, 2024, following a funeral mass at the Charles Davies Memorial United Methodist Church in Lumley. A laying-out memorial service is scheduled for Friday, August 30, at the Freetown City Council Auditorium.
