Police in Freetown have arrested two men from K-Step, Calaba Town, after they were allegedly caught with government-issued free healthcare materials, including HIV, hepatitis C, and malaria test kits, along with a range of other medical supplies.
The arrest took place on Monday, 17 November 2025, at Kabala Park in the Peace Market area near Ferry Junction.
It was carried out by the Operations Team of the Harbour Police Division under the leadership of ASP Francis Tommy.
According to police sources, the two suspects, identified as Mohamed Kamara and Osman Sako, were apprehended following intelligence-led operations targeting the unauthorised circulation of state-owned health supplies.
Both men have been transferred to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Harbour Police Division, where they are assisting officers as investigations continue.
Authorities are probing how the suspects obtained the items and whether they were part of a wider scheme to divert government healthcare materials meant for public use.
The Sierra Leone Police Media Team confirmed the ongoing inquiry.
