The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has rolled out a new safety regulation requiring every vehicle in the country to be equipped with a first aid kit.
The measure, which takes effect immediately, is aimed at improving emergency response on the roads and reducing fatalities and severe injuries in the aftermath of accidents.
Officials from the SLRSA say the initiative aligns with international road safety standards and is part of ongoing efforts to promote responsible driving and preparedness.
By ensuring that basic medical supplies are always within reach, the Authority believes lives can be saved in the crucial moments before professional medical help arrives.
The Authority has not yet disclosed the penalties for non-compliance but stressed that enforcement checks will soon begin nationwide.
