The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has officially launched the process to elect new executive members across various levels, including Sections, Zones, Chiefdoms, Constituencies, Districts, Regions, and National positions.
This critical step aims to ensure the ongoing effective leadership and management of the party.
A National Executive Council (NEC) meeting is set for January 18, 2025, at the party’s headquarters, where key discussions will take place, including the approval of the election schedule and plans for the National Delegates Conference, where national officers will be elected.
In line with the regulations set on February 5, 2021, the party encourages members to build consensus for Sectional and Zonal elections. However, if a consensus cannot be reached, elections will be held. Only fully registered and dues-paying members will be allowed to vote, ensuring the process is fair and inclusive of committed participants.
Members are encouraged to complete their registration, settle any outstanding dues, and ensure their names are listed in their respective zones. A final list of validated members will be made public two days before the elections. Only those on the list will be eligible to vote.
The SLPP expresses sincere appreciation to all its members, reaffirming its commitment to a smooth, transparent, and democratic election process. The party remains dedicated to ensuring fair elections, where every member’s voice is heard, underscoring its commitment to democratic values and the continued growth of the SLPP.
