Freetown, Sierra Leone – 19th June 2025 – The Electoral Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has officially announced the list of candidates who have successfully passed the nomination and vetting process for the upcoming SLFA Ordinary Congress elections, set to take place on August 2, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Committee on Wednesday, the candidate nomination period ran from June 5 to June 15, 2025, giving interested individuals a 10-day window to submit their applications.
The process was conducted in line with the SLFA Statutes, Electoral Code, and the provisions outlined in the approved Electoral Roadmap.
Each submission was rigorously reviewed based on Article 25(3) and Article 32(4 & 5) of the SLFA Statutes, which detail eligibility requirements, including verifiable involvement in football activities over the past five years and valid residency.

The Electoral Committee confirmed that all candidates listed above have met the eligibility requirements and are therefore cleared to run in the elections, pending final integrity assessments by the SLFA Ethics Committee.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mohamed Koi Bainda Esq, emphasized the Committee’s dedication to ensuring a democratic and transparent election process.
“We assure all stakeholders that the Committee remains fully committed to a free, fair, and credible election. We look forward to a peaceful and orderly SLFA Congress,” he stated.
The upcoming congress is seen as a pivotal moment for Sierra Leonean football, as it could usher in new leadership and set the tone for the development of the sport in the country over the next four years.
