The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has announced a major shakeup in its senior command structure as part of renewed efforts to tackle the surge in armed robberies and violent crimes across the country.
The decision follows a series of troubling incidents, including the killing of a Catholic priest in Kenema and a brutal attack on a senior manager of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) in Bo, who was left unconscious after the assault.
According to the SLP, the transfers are aimed at restoring public confidence and boosting operational effectiveness in the affected regions.
Among the key changes:
* AIG Francis M. Tower, former Eastern Region Commander, has been reassigned and replaced by AIG Francis Mainby, who previously headed Freetown East.
* LUC Alphonso A. Fambuleh has been moved from Kenema and replaced by LUC Bob N. Mansaray, who now takes charge of the division. Mansaray has been posted to Port Loko as part of the reshuffle.
* Joseph Honor Kamara, former LUC of Bo West, has been reassigned to the Correctional Service, with LUC Kabia from Motema taking over his role.
* LUCs Sia Sandi (Bo East) and Foday Sesay (Moyamba Division) have swapped positions in a bid to strengthen local policing.
Inspector General of Police, Fayia Sellu, reaffirmed the force’s determination to protect lives and property, stressing that the reshuffle reflects the SLP’s commitment to ensuring safety and law enforcement nationwide.

May the lord keep his blessed hands upon all the stakeholders that mean good for this Country.
