A joint delegation from the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC) and Banga Group has completed an extensive land inspection as preparations intensify for the construction of 5,000 affordable homes across the country.
The high-powered team, led by Banga Group Vice President Mr. Sow Taguiyoulaye dit Yero and joined by the company’s Chinese partners, toured three key sites earmarked for the project—206 acres at Mile 6, 150 acres in Mapara, and 25 acres in Macdonald.
They were accompanied by SALHOC General Manager Joseph Munda Sandi, his deputy Emmanuel Tommy, and Banga Group’s local representative Alhaji Ibrahim Conteh.
The visit follows a July 2025 Memorandum of Understanding between SALHOC and Banga Group. Formal contract signing is now underway, paving the way for construction to begin.
Mr. Sandi said the initiative supports the Government’s 2023–2028 Medium-Term National Development Plan, “a major step toward delivering affordable, decent, and sustainable homes nationwide.”
Mr. Yero reaffirmed Banga Group’s commitment to “transforming communities through modern housing,” citing the company’s successful project in Niamey, Niger, as a model.
