In a recent development, President Bio has reinstated Hon. Paran Tarawally as the Clerk of Parliament.
This decision comes after the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) concluded that the case against Tarawally did not meet the prosecutorial threshold for indictment, referring the matter back to the president for administrative action.
Tarawally, who had been suspended due to allegations involving the employment of his wife within Parliament, will resume his duties on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
The ACC’s investigation determined that Tarawally was unaware of his wife’s employment, finding no documentation linking him to the hiring process. As a result, the allegations were dismissed, and his suspension was lifted.
Reliable sources confirm that Tarawally’s period of suspension and administrative discipline has concluded, allowing him to return to his official role.
