Freetown, Sierra Leone — Popular entertainer and politician Natasha Beckley has been released on bail by the Sierra Leone Police, pending the outcome of ongoing investigations into allegations linking her to a Kush-related case.
Her lawyer, Abdul Karim Kamara, Esq., confirmed the development in an interview with Liberty Online TV, stating that Beckley was granted bail after voluntarily appearing at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Freetown in response to a police notice of warrant.
Beckley’s legal troubles arose from a police raid conducted on June 13 at No. 8 Campbell Lane, off Taylor Street, Fourah Bay Road, Freetown. The Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU), which led the operation, reported seizing nine polythene bags of shredded leaves suspected to be marshmallow, five containers of acetone, three gas masks, and five old weighing scales—materials authorities suspect were connected to the production and distribution of Kush, a synthetic drug that has become a major concern across Sierra Leone.
While the bail offers Beckley a temporary reprieve, police investigations remain active. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether formal charges will be filed, leaving the public awaiting further clarity on the case.
