The Ministry of Social Welfare has reiterated its commitment to supporting families in need, following a heartwarming visit from a Freetown couple raising quadruplets. The visit took place on Tuesday at the Ministry’s headquarters.
Mohamed S. Kamara and Fatmata K. Sesay, residents of Old Arbadeen in Crab Town, Lumley, were warmly received by Minister of Social Welfare, Melrose Karminty, in what marked their second official visit since the birth of their quadruplets in 2024.
Minister Karminty praised Mr. Kamara for his steadfast support to his wife and children, describing his actions as a model of love and responsibility. “This is a beautiful example of dedication in the face of life’s challenges,” she remarked.
As part of the Ministry’s continued assistance to vulnerable families, the couple was presented with two 50kg bags of rice and a financial donation. The Minister also commended Mrs. Sesay for her strength and determination, noting the extraordinary effort it takes to raise four infants simultaneously.
Director of the Family Unit, Madam Worokia Content, reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to promoting strong family values and ensuring the welfare of children nationwide.
Expressing his appreciation, Mr. Kamara thanked the Ministry for its ongoing support, saying the help had made a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
Minister Karminty assured the couple that the Ministry would remain a source of support and encouraged them to continue raising their children in a loving and united environment, calling the quadruplets a sign of hope and blessing.
