In a decisive crackdown on illicit drug trafficking, the Harbour Police Division conducted evening raids on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024, leading to the arrest of a prominent figure in the trade.
Identified as Mummy Rugiatu Conteh, also known as Mama G, aged 48, the suspect was apprehended at her residence in 18 Moa Wharf, situated behind Guard Street Market in the East end of Freetown.
Under the command of Operations Officer Inspector Alpha Umaru Jalloh, alias Dragon, the raid yielded a substantial seizure of narcotics. Among the confiscated items were One Hundred wraps of Kush, Three pharmaceutical sachets of Kush, and Thirty-six wraps of Cannabis Sativa. Additionally, law enforcement discovered various implements associated with the processing of illegal substances.7
Inspector Alpha Umaru Jalloh, known for his unwavering dedication, emphasized the ongoing commitment of the Harbour Police Division in combating drug-related crimes.
“We will never relent in pursuing the drug dealers. The support from community members is commendable,” asserted Inspector Jalloh.
Currently, the suspect, Mama G, remains in police custody alongside the confiscated contraband.
