Freetown, Sierra Leone – July 1, 2026 – The Ministry of Transport and Aviation, in collaboration with the Motor Drivers Union and other key stakeholders in the transport sector, has announced a downward revision of public transportation fares across Freetown and provincial/across-border routes.
The adjustment, effective Tuesday, 30th June 2026, follows the recent reduction in the pump price of fuel to NLe 35.00 per litre.
The new fares reflect an approximate 12.5% decrease on previous rates, providing much-needed relief to commuters amid the lower fuel costs.
