Freetown – Former Minister of Social Welfare, Gender, and Children’s Affairs, Mustapha Bai Atilla, has strongly denied allegations of domestic violence against his visually impaired wife, Monica Yenni Galiwa, in a recent interview with DJ Base of AYV.
During the interview, Atilla, who is also visually impaired dismissed the claims, asserting that they are part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Monica’s brother, Augustine Mukeh Galiwa, whom he described as a critic of the Russian government.
He pointed out that despite the accusations and photos circulating on social media, no legal action has been taken against him, emphasizing that he would have been arrested if the allegations were true.
The former minister further alleged that Monica, accompanied by the Minister of Gender, arrived at his residence intending to assault him.
He also revealed that his 16-day-old twins have been taken from him and are reportedly taken to Bo.
Atilla claimed that Monica had told her mother, as well as him, that he is not the biological father of the twins, a revelation that has left him feeling betrayed. “I used to love Monica, but now I hate her because she told me I am not the father of the children. I wish I never met Monica,” he expressed.
Atilla also accused popular Facebook blogger, Hawanatu Konneh of engaging in a physical altercation with him at his home, tearing his vest in the process.
He claimed that Konneh had previously advised him against marrying Monica, alleging she was involved with veteran musician Jimmy B, who supported her participation in the Housemates Salone reality TV show.
Addressing the state of his marriage, Atilla acknowledged that the couple had issues but blamed Monica’s mother for exacerbating the situation.
He expressed disbelief that the Minister of Gender, Isata Mahoi would take his children away based on what he called fabricated evidence by Monica’s brother.
In a defiant statement, Atilla vowed to fight for his rights, warning of severe consequences if his children were not returned. “I am ready to die for my rights, and if my children are not brought back, there will be hell to pay,” he declared.
The situation has drawn significant public attention, with many calling for the arrest of Atilla for the physical and psychological abuse of his wife, Monica Yenni Galiwa.
