Sierra Leonean rapper Boss La has voluntarily returned himself to the Pademba Road Male Correctional Center in Freetown.
The rapper, who was released during a prison break-in on Sunday, the 27th of November 2023, took to social media to make the announcement.
Boss La, in a post shared online, expressed his commitment to peace, stating, “As a peaceful citizen, I am turning myself in now to the authorities…thanks to God for everything. One Salone ????.”
Earlier, he detailed the harrowing experience he and fellow inmates faced during the prison break. “Being alive today is by the grace of God almighty,” Boss La revealed.
He recounted the terrifying moment when military officers forcefully opened his cell amidst heavy gunfire, ordering him to exit the prison.
Concerned for his safety, Boss La reached out to Chief Minister Hon. David Sengeh and Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu, urging them to ensure his secure transfer to a safer location.
Expressing his disapproval of the day’s events, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the hard-earned peace and stability in Sierra Leone.
In a plea to the nation, Boss La called for unity and prioritization of peace and security.
“Let us stand united against any form of violence or discord and work towards building a harmonious Sierra Leone,” he stated.
The rapper further urged fellow Sierra Leoneans, especially his fans, to remain vigilant and support government and security forces in their efforts to uphold law and order.
As Sierra Leone grapples with the aftermath of the prison break, Boss La’s voluntary return to incarceration adds a unique twist to the unfolding narrative, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to safeguard the nation’s peace and stability.
