Bo City Council (BCC) has rolled out a new directive prohibiting the use of Bluetooth speakers and megaphones in public places across the city, in a bid to combat noise pollution and promote a more peaceful environment.
The directive, spearheaded by Mayor Kobba Musa, aims to foster a serene atmosphere for residents, businesses, and institutions within Bo city.
According to a press release from the council, individuals or groups caught flouting the ban will face fines or legal action in line with council regulations.
“This measure by the council is to curb noise pollution and ensure a peaceful environment for all residents, businesses, and institutions. Any individual or group found violating this directive shall be subject to a fine or other legal action,” the notice reads.
Mayor Kobba Musa’s commitment to improving the well-being of Bo city residents has been widely praised, with many locals and citizens across Sierra Leone welcoming the move as a positive step towards enhancing the city’s quality of life.
